Snowing

It’s day 3 of the Georgia snow storm! I wake again to the beautiful sight of pure white snow! It covers my yard, our trucks, and my outside fixtures. There are trails of feet and messy patches where you can see memories were made. My heart fills with gratitude! My tiny snowman family remains standing on our back porch table and the trees have small areas of snow still lying on branches. I smile at the winter season approaching and know that God is good. Church was cancelled due to the safety of everyone and I remember to rest! I sing songs of worship as I twirl around my kitchen feeding my son and thank the Father’s son for power in this day!

From Friday evening to mid afternoon Saturday we were without power! I made coffee from a sock on my gas stove yesterday and it was delicious! My husband kept us warm by continuously monitoring the fire and we took everything from our fridge and freezer and placed it in the snow! We still don’t have tv and internet and I’m positive I’m the only one that could care less if it ever came back on! As the hours got longer, my list of praise did too! I understand it could have been a great opportunity to whine and complain but I refused to let the enemy steal what God had planned for me!

“Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭86:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

It’s been since the beginning of November that I removed myself from social networks! It’s honestly like death from anything current. I miss pictures and moments from friends, I miss invites and any events planned I’m unaware of. I miss opportunities to share my own joy and positive cheer with the world. I also receive peace without clutter of societies opinions. I receive more moments with my family and realize who my actual “friends” are without a like or comment on my latest post or request in my inbox! I receive more of God’s word and less of the worlds! I receive more Holy Spirit and create empty pages on my book of life for the Lord to write His story to me! By not fitting in I have received more of Him than I ever imagined! I made myself spiritually snowed in!

By slowing down and taking away the normal things we take for granted daily we are able to see what Gods grace and mercy really can do! By taking away the noise and power that everything our agendas clutter our minds with can open doors that we’ve kept locked away from God! Are we really doing everything we can to please Him? Are we approaching each day with thanksgiving or complaining about the very breath we’ve been given? How can we turn off the power of everything the enemy wants and turn on the power of God in our lives? Rest in His presence. Praise in the trials. Soak up His words. Pray for battle. Fight for purpose and spread His love!

Lord,

Thank You for this day! Thank You for slowing down our lives and opening our hearts to an opportunity to give thanks while we receive rest! Show us what more we can do to serve your kingdom! Father we praise You for such beautiful memories in the white snow! Forgive of us of our sinful ways and remove any complaints our thoughts may steer towards! Let us count joy and peace as we go about our week! Heal the sick, mend the broken, it is done because You have spoken! You are the ultimate treasure in this world! Your will be done! We turn our eyes to the Son!

In Jesus name,

Amen

“And he said, "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭33:14‬ ‭ESV‬‬
