Blinded by Ambition
Have we become blinded by ambition?
-
Is our value found in what we accomplish or by what God is accomplishing in us?
-
Is success in what we build or in who God builds us into?
-
Are we more interested in what we do than in who we are becoming?
Are we sacrificing our peace on the altar of self gratification?
What price are we willing to pay to fulfill our ambition? Do we walk away from what matters to pursue what we desire?
Selfish ambition is the monster we must slay to find abiding peace. No longer chasing the wind to cling to a hand full of air, but finding our value through the cross of Christ that leads to a life that truly matters.
THE CROSS SHAPED LIFE IS THE VICTORIOUS LIFE!
“And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.”
Mark 8:34-35 ESV
“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
Philippians 2:3-4 ESV
This month as we talk about peace, let’s understand that peace isn’t found in what we accomplish, but in the presence of God who is continually moving us toward who we were created to be.
