I am a link

When I started writing this blog, I said out loud as I was typing, “I am a Link.” I then heard my husband say, “Hey, me too.” My heart immediately filled with gratitude for the message we received this weekend at Activation Church.

I am Blessed to be a blessing. It is well within my soul. 

 Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

-Genesis 12:1-3 (ESV)

When God created the heavens and the earth, he also created man and woman and placed them in a garden. It was from them that God was going to build His family and display His nature. It was through this family that His blessing and favor would spread from generation to generation, but sin broke the cycle. Instead of being the children of blessing, they became children of wrath and children of the curse. From the moment of the fall until this moment in Genesis 12, God didn’t have a family to carry His nature. It was through Abram, who will later be called Abraham, that God chose to restart His family. He tells Him that He will bless him to be a blessing and that through him all the nations of the earth will be blessed. Abraham was the first link in a very long chain that would come.

 Praise the Lord!

Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,

    who greatly delights in his commandments!

His offspring will be mighty in the land;

    the generation of the upright will be blessed.

Wealth and riches are in his house,

    and his righteousness endures forever.

“I am a product of a family that loved God and obeyed and served Him; a family of favor.”

I urge you all to listen to our podcast from Sunday 10/15/2017 after you read this or maybe you already have (LISTEN HERE). Pastor Aram’s testimony of his family of favor is truly one you do not want to miss and I am afraid I could not do it justice by summarizing it. All I could think of while he was talking about it was how am I supposed to hit home in my blog with this? This testimony of miracle from heritage: his great grandfather, his grandfather, and father goes beyond belief of anything our carnal minds can comprehend. I was fortunate enough to meet (and hear) his grandfather so my heart could feel his presence in that room as he preached this and I began my spiritual walk in his father’s church. The Lord surrounds and moves within the obedience in the Mushegan’s and I am grateful to be a part of this chain. It was because of his great, great grandfather’s choice to listen to the voice of God and act upon his purpose that led them to the United States and plant seeds all over to save and change lives. Because one man made the decision to grow His family in the name of the Lord they all became blessed and continue to bless others. 

This is the heritage that we can all have. This is the heritage we do have if we are in Christ. Remember in Genesis 12 when God told Abram that through him all the nations of the earth would be blessed. Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection gave us all access to that blessing.

And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise. Galatians 3:29 (ESV)

We may not all have been born into a family that taught us the value of prayer and obedience to Christ. We may not all have had the pleasure of witnessing miracles or seeing purpose unravel before our eyes, but we can through Christ become a link in the chain of a rich spiritual heritage.

Pastor Aram said this, “Faith in Christ connects me, obedience blesses me, and my lifestyle brings it through to my family.” It is about how we live that creates a space for future generations to connect and become a link in the chain.

We can walk in blessing and spread it to our offspring and everyone who comes to know Jesus through us. That is our real purpose! We are the family of God that carries His nature into the world. The same promise Abraham received is the promise we have received. The purpose of Adam and Eve has been restored to us through Christ Jesus our Lord.

I am a part of this chain. I am a part of a purpose that allows me to live beyond my moment and so are you. If we don’t have purpose than we will forever stay stuck in a moment.

I am a Link. You are a link. If you didn’t grow up with a family that served God, you can become the first link in your family. Through you, your future generations can receive His blessing… Be the first link!

Father, 

I thank You daily for a Church family that saves me. I thank You for blessing Pastor Aram and allowing me to be a link. I pray for prosperity and health among those that let me touch their lives in Your name. I pray people all over witness miracles and give You praise. I pray families can set new life and standards that forever lives on in Your presence here on Earth.
