God wants me to know His word

God Wants Me To_fe

God Wants Me To ________.

We began a new series today that I am completely on fire about. I love anything fill in the blank. God wants us to do many things and this first message is a wonderful guide to getting everything we can out of our walk with Christ.

God wants me to know His word

We need to begin listening more to the Word and less of the world. God wants us to be hungry for His truth and be able to wear the full armor so that we may defeat and overcome all obstacles in our path.

Blessed is the man

who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,

nor stands in the way of sinners,

    nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

but his delight is in the law of the Lord,

and on his law he meditates day and night.

-Psalm 1:1-2 (ESV)

Before we can get anything out of the word of God we must first receive the Holy Spirit. How many times do we begin reading a passage or strive to read through the bible but forget to pray beforehand? Let’s start praying first and then begin reading. Pastor Aram hits on such a strong topic when it comes to the word. We need to understand it is quality over quantity. We can read all day long, but to fully comprehend His words we need to meditate on each passage and then apply it to our life.

But he answered, “It is written,“‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

-Matthew 4:4 (ESV)

We go to church on Sunday and meet weekly in studies but if we do not personally listen to what the Word of God says then we will never be fulfilled or be able to be conquerors. It is the word that brings us strength, joy, peace, and health. In flesh hunger we eat and are satisfied but when we get hungry for God we cannot ever get enough. The word of God is never broken; people are. We must begin releasing what God says into this life to rid out negative and become corrected. We do not discipline our children or give them truth to hurt them but to help them and God, our Father, only does the same in our lives.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

-2 Timothy 3:16-17 (ESV)

We become what we intake and we need to start taking daily doses of scripture. The word is quick and alive and will search us out. Pastor Aram compares it to looking in the mirror. If we look in the mirror and see something that is wrong we fix it. The same should be true with scripture. When we see something in scripture, we should immediately apply it to our life. We must not twist the word into something it is not and understand that it is available to bring us much increase. By hearing and not doing we are only deceiving ourselves.

“No one is exempt from heartache and pain.”- Pastor Aram

God has given us a hope and a future; a hope for you and me.  There will be trials. It is up to us whether or not we understand that God sets us up for victory by giving us the weapons to defend anything life throws our way. All scripture is breathed out by God and the truth helps us from believing any lie the world tells us.

Say this out loud, “ I serve a God whose hand is on me! I am more than a conqueror and I live for victory!”

In Ephesians 6:10-20 we learn about wearing the full armor of God. Let us not wrestle with flesh and blood.  Let’s not walk around with the devil on one shoulder and the angel on the other. We will not be trapped by deception and allow the enemy to hold any power over us. Let’s highlight the word of God not white out the parts we don’t want to hear. Success is tied to feeding into the word. Let’s begin chewing on it daily and digest every good fruit!

Let’s give praise to the one that saves!

Lord,

Help us pray daily. Lead us into Your word and help us apply it to our daily lives. Lord give us a hunger that allows us to chew on each verse and let it rearrange our minds so that we see truth and can defeat anything in our way of  leading us to Your Kingdom. Destroy and demolish any strongholds. You are the way and the truth and we desire more. Father we adore the very breathe You give us. Forgive us from our wrongs and lead us into right. Watch us day and night.

In Jesus name

Amen
