God wants me to be united

God Wants Me To_fe

Behold, how good and pleasant it is

    when brothers dwell in unity!

It is like the precious oil on the head,

    running down on the beard,

on the beard of Aaron,

running down on the collar of his robes!

It is like the dew of Hermon,

which falls on the mountains of Zion!

For there the Lord has commanded the blessing,

    life forevermore.

-Psalm 133 (ESV)

It wasn’t long ago that I sat in my room on Sunday mornings and listened to worship music while reading the bible. It wasn’t long ago that I preached to myself about how I didn’t need a church and that I had my own relationship with Christ, so of course we were cool. It wasn’t long ago I questioned my purpose and path during my journey with God. It wasn’t long ago that I was secretly crying to be united with our Father but didn’t know what I was missing. This morning’s message reminded me of why I landed myself at Activation Church on January 3rd of 2016. God placed me there so I could be a part of the body. God placed me there so I could begin using my gifts and talents for a purpose. God blessed me and my family beyond belief when we became connected to His home.

Everyone has a talent and a gift, but it doesn’t matter how good or gifted we are, if we cannot walk in unity with someone else’s gift then it will all fall apart. The enemy will try hard to distract and stop the plan and purpose for God in our lives.  Here are some beautiful key points I jotted down during service today.

-We are the body of Christ.

-God commands blessing in unity.

-If we bypass unity there will be malfunction.

Churches, marriages, jobs, friendships… They all fall apart without unity. We see it happen all the time in churches. Sally talks about how Betty gave her a cruel look and John let Jacob borrow the tractor and he broke it so everyone leaves the church. This is an act of self and flesh and not of the Lord. The same happens in any relationship. We have become gossipers and complainers and that separates us not unites us. We have to start asking ourselves where is the love?

“Instead of letting division pull us apart let’s be the change that brings us back together.”

- Pastor Aram

Pastor Aram shows us about rhythm using our worship team. They first play together on a song they all know and it sounds amazing. Different instruments, different talents, all coming together to worship God. Then they all play something different and not on the same beat and it sounds like chaos. That is exactly what looks like when we don’t’ walk in unity. If we are the body of Christ, then we all must come together and use our unique talents to serve God’s Kingdom. We have to remember that we are not called to do everything and just because it is good doesn't mean that God called us there. One body; many different members, all working together to make all things possible. When we are joined to anything than we will invest in it.

What can we accomplish? What can we do? Are we doing all we can for the Kingdom of God?

I personally know that the moment my family became equally yoked to our church that blessings began and trials became testimony and triumph to our God. Pastor Aram talked about how when the church flourishes so will its people and I am living proof of this. Starting with my husband joining the church to play drums in the band. I found a job at a perfect time. I prayed years for a child and then was blessed with a pregnancy.  I quit my job on a limb after my son was born and tithed the same and God continues to provide for us. It is risk, it is faith, it is time and dedication. It isn’t easy but it is rewarding. We planted our garden at Activation Church and our fruits are being pruned, picked, and growing like crazy. We are united as one. We are united with the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit guides us.

Father,

I pray today that anyone reading or listening to today’s sermon will become united. I pray we as a people can see our talents and gifts that You provided us and invest in Your Kingdom. I pray that financial blessing will pour over and out to those in need and that whatever is given will be multiplied. I pray that our Church grows and that Church’s across the nation will be joined in Unity for Your glory. Use me Father. Forgive me Father for any flesh thoughts or actions and lead me to be a rhythm in this noisy, chaotic world. We praise You Lord, we love You.

In Jesus Name,

Unite Us.

Amen
