Praying Through Fear

September 6, 2026 Speaker: Aram Mushegan Series: Pray Through

Passage: 1 Peter 5:6–7, Psalm 3:1–8, 2 Corinthians 4:17–18

What do you do when you're afraid and the situation may not change?
In this message from the Praying Through series, Pastor Aram Mushegan walks through Psalm 3 and shows us how David prayed when his life was in danger, his own son had turned against him, and everything around him seemed to be falling apart.

The Bible doesn't teach us to ignore our fear or allow fear to control us. It invites us to bring what we're feeling to God.

Through David's prayer in Psalm 3, we learn how to tell God what we're afraid of, redirect our attention to who He is, find rest even when our circumstances haven't changed, and trust God with what happens next. “You can't always control what is happening to you, but you can control what gets your attention.”

David's fear was real. His enemies were real. But so was his God.

Sometimes God changes the situation. Sometimes He doesn't. Our confidence in God has to be bigger than our circumstances. Fear doesn't get the final word. God does.
And because of the hope we have in Christ, what we are going through right now cannot compare to what is waiting for us.
