Why did Jesus come?

What is Christmas? Why did Jesus come?

There are three primary reasons why Jesus stepped into human history and became flesh. (God in Incarnate, meaning God in flesh)

First: He came to GIVE us truth.

Just before Jesus' crucifixion Pilate ask Jesus; Art thou a king then? Jesus answers saying, “To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. - John 18:37 KJV

God doesn't have truth, He is truth. (John 14:6)

- Jesus is the word made flesh. (John 1:14)

- God's word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105)

- The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth. (John 16:13-15)

Second: He came to GIVE us life.

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. - John 10:10 NKJV

Don't just exist, live life with God given purpose. Jesus offers life in three dimensions:

- My past can be forgiven.

- My present can have purpose.

- My future is secure.

Third: He came to GIVE us salvation and forgiveness.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. - Luke 2:11

- Salvation is paramount. (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9)

- Salvation is a gift. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

- Salvation will change your life. (John 1:12, John 3:16)

Have you noticed during this entire study that God is giving? “For God so loved the world that He GAVE His only begotten Son”. The Christmas season isn't “the most wonderful time of the year' because of the food, lights and gifts. The Christmas season is “the most wonderful time of the year' because we have the opportunity to be like our Father in Heaven, to give as God gives. Our Christmas season is and must be the celebration of the day Jesus (God Incarnate) invaded human history to save us from ourselves. He humbly came to earth, lived a sinless life we couldn't live and paid a price we couldn't pay and was raised to life again to give us truth, life and salvation. Who can we give the gift of Jesus to this Christmas?
